Trump rallies supporters ahead of South Carolina primary: Watch live

Former President Trump is holding a rally Friday afternoon in South Carolina on the eve of the state’s closely watched Republican presidential primary.

The event is being held in Rock Hill, a suburb of Charlotte, N.C., giving Trump an opportunity to also gin up enthusiasm among his base in the Tarheel State, a possible swing state in November.

Polls have indicated Trump holds a large lead among GOP voters in South Carolina heading into Saturday’s primary, where he is competing against former Gov. Nikki Haley. Some of the delegates up for grabs will be assigned to the winner of each of the Palmetto State’s U.S. congressional districts.

Trump is scheduled to speak at 4 p.m. EST.
