Two charged after woman seriously injured in Lewisham stabbing

Two men have appeared in court after a woman was seriously injured in a stabbing in south-east London.

Officers were scrambled to Lewisham Way on May 24 after reports of victim with knife wounds.

Paramedics treated the victim in her 30s for stab injuries.

Her condition is not considered life-threatening.

Jorge Enrique Borges, 64, from Southwark, and Mateo Valencia Cano, from South Norwood, appeared in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with conspiracy to murder.

Cano was also charged with attempted murder, robbery, and possession of an offensive weapon.

Both were remanded to appear at Crown Court on July 29 at a venue yet to be fixed. Borges and Cano were arrested on June 28 and charged the following day.
