SINGAPORE — Two community cat corpses were found at Block 201C Woodleigh Link on separate occasions on 24 and 27 April.

News of the suspected cat abuse surfaced on Reddit Singapore on Wednesday (3 May) via a poster by user "anabello".

A Yahoo Southeast Asia reader shared that these posters were also put up at lift lobbies around the estate. The reader also said that two other cats have been found dead, with puncture wounds from suspected dog bites.

In observing the wounds on the first two cat corpses, some Reddit users speculated that the cats were allegedly captured, beaten, scalded and then drowned.

A spokesperson from the Cat Welfare Society (CWS) told Yahoo Southeast Asia that it is unusual that four cat carcasses would be found within a short span of time.

"This does suggest that something out of the ordinary has taken place," the spokesperson added.

CWS has also been informed that the two cat corpses have been sent to the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) by their caregivers. It said that AVS is identifying the cause of the two cats' deaths before appropriate actions can be taken.

A police report has been made and caregivers of the cats are calling for eye witnesses and further information. The public may contact 8233-5279 should they have any information.
