Two vehicle fires in Devon are being treated as "possible arson", police have said.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said both vehicles were "well alight" when crews arrived at Chapel Court in Torquay at about 04:00 BST.

The fire service said the cause of the fires was believed to be "deliberate".

One vehicle was 100% damaged and the other was 50% damaged, it added.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it was thought one car was alight and the "fire then spread to a second".

The force added that both vehicles had since been recovered.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
