At U.N. Syria meeting, U.S. warns when U.N. fails states 'compelled to act'

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The United States warned on Wednesday that when the United Nations fails to act collectively then states "are compelled to take our own action." "When the United Nations consistently fails in its duty to act collectively, there are times in the life of states that we are compelled to take our own action," U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley told a Security Council meeting on Syria.
