(Reuters) - The National Weather Service on Tuesday canceled a tsunami watch it has previously issued for California following a 7.9 magnitude earthquake that had struck the Gulf of Alaska.
“A Tsunami was generated by this event, but does not pose a threat to California," the service's San Francisco Bay Area office said on Twitter.

Corazon Dandan died after being pushed into an oncoming BART train at San Francisco’s Powell Street Station at around 11 p.m on Monday night.
