Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 48 out of 53 Shahed-131/136 drones and all five Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles overnight on June 7, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk reported.

Russia launched 53 Shahed drones from Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeisk, Kursk, and temporarily occupied Crimea to target Ukraine's critical infrastructure. Five Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles were fired from Tu-95MS bombers from Russia's Saratov Oblast.

Ukrainian air defense eliminated the aerial targets across nine oblasts, namely Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Khmelnytskyi oblasts.

Ukrainian Defense Forces mobile fire groups, fighter jets, anti-aircraft missile units, and electronic warfare units were involved in repelling the attack, Oleshchuk said.

Ukrainian Air Force tracked four Russian Tu-95 aircrafts take off and enemy drones in Ukraine's airspace overnight on June 7.

The night-long attack saw cruise missiles heading for western oblasts, with explosions reported in Khmelnytskyi Oblast.

A fire broke out at an industrial site in Kyiv Oblast as a result of the Russian attack, Kyiv officials reported.
