Vicky Pattison shares major change during filming of new show
I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! winner and Geordie Shore alumni Vicky Pattison is back on our screens in the new series of Pilgrimage on the BBC.
Subtitled The Road Through Portugal, this series of the show features celebrities of different faiths following the northern route of the Fátima Way, where people have said to have seen apparitions of the Virgin Mary, and attracts 6 to 8 million religious tourists a year.
Vicky's co-stars for this trek are former EastEnders star Rita Simons (Jewish), actress Su Pollard (Church of England), teacher and broadcasterbBobby Seagull (Catholic), Boyzone singer Shane Lynch (born-again Pentecostal Christian), paralympic skier Millie Knight (non practising Church of England), and comedian Nabil Abulrashid (Muslim). Unlike her fellow celebrities, Vicky is Agnostic and follows no religion.

Or, at least she did when she started filming. Speaking to The Mirror, the self-confessed "rogue booking" for the series felt like she has found some sort of belief during her experience.
"The journey affected me in a profound way I didn't anticipate," she said. "I cried [during filming] because I felt like I was missing out on something to truly believe in. For years I didn't believe in anything. I was untethered and unhappy. I've grown a lot since then… I'm more secure in myself."
Referring to the death of her best friend and then her grandparents a few years back, Vicky added: "I thought a lot about them. I have more belief in spirituality and the universe, but there's now part of me which would like to go the next step and explore religion.

"The show brought me a sense of belief and peace. Faith is such a beautiful thing. I'd like to have that in my life. I don't want to be 90 and scared of dying… I want to know there's something more."
The newest series of Pilgrimage begins Friday, April 7, at 9pm on BBC Two and iPlayer.
