Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas called on French president Francois Hollande to support a UN Security Council draft resolution to demand that Israel ends the occupation of Palestine. At a joint press conference in Paris on Friday, September 19, Abbas reportedly said, “It is time to put an end to the longest occupation on modern history.” Hollande reportedly commented that negotiations with Israel had to be resumed.
