Lavrov Urges Ukraine to Negotiate With Pro-Russian Separatists

Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov criticized Kiev for its “aggressive actions” at a press conference in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, Azerbaijan on June 18.

Following a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov, Lavrov told members of the press that ‘Azerbaijan and Russia are strategic partners’ and that they had discussed the situation in Ukraine. Lavrov took the opportunity to urge the Ukrainian leadership to negotiate with pro-Russian separatists.
