Vin Diesel responds to Groot's emotional final Guardians 3 line

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 spoilers follow.

Vin Diesel has reflected on Groot's tear-jerking final line in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

The latest MCU film saw Star-Lord reunite with Gamora, Drax, Groot, Nebula, Rocket, and Mantis for one last hurrah, as they embark on a mission to take down new villain the High Evolutionary.

The film ended the story of the current Guardians, giving fans many emotional moments including finally understanding the language Groot was speaking, as he was heard saying one simple final line: "I love you guys."

Groot actor Vin Diesel has spoken about the heartwarming moment, describing the scene as "very cool".

"You know, just... on that front, it was very cool because it meant that the audience is now able to understand the vernacular, the language of this Flora colossus," he told Entertainment Tonight.

"And that's a testament to the ten years of loyalty which we've been so blessed with in this franchise with the Groot character and patience to have people wait that long for somebody saying three words. But, like everything alive, with patience and dedication."

Director James Gunn previously confirmed a theory about the moment in which fans can finally ditch their Groot translator.

The sweet reasoning behind this change seems to be that fans have now been so profoundly impacted by the story and the characters, they are part of their extended, space-traveling family, meaning they can finally understand Groot.

Meanwhile, the director has apologised to fans for a 'mistake' within the film concerning Dave Bautista's character Drax.

Marvel fans will know that Drax is skilled with the saxophone and occasionally plays for his friends, but his musical prowess has been omitted from the films. In response to some disappointed tweets, Gunn joked that Bautista has been "taking sax lessons for ten years all to no avail".

"Maybe he can star in the Stan Getz biopic. Sorry, Dave!" he added.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is released in UK cinemas on May 3 and in US cinemas on May 5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 and Vol 2 and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special are streaming on Disney+.
