“VPR”: Sandoval Feels a 'Hint of Acceptance' from His Pals but Is Still 'Torn Between Resentment and Love' with Rachel

"This isn't just about them forgiving me, this is something we need to mutually move on from together," Tom Sandoval said of his friends on this week’s episode of 'Vanderpump Rules'

Tom Sandoval is still working to get back into the good graces of his friends amid the fallout of Scandoval.

On Tuesday’s episode of Vanderpump Rules, the Schwartz & Sandy's co-owner broke down in tears after getting the first “hint of acceptance” from his pals when Scheana Shay greeted him at the airport on their way to Lake Tahoe.

However, the good times were short lived for Sandoval. When he arrived at the group’s rental property, Brock Davies confronted Sandoval, 41, about his handling of his affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, saying, “I think it's hard on the whole group to figure out how we get through this weekend. None of them have felt heard because obviously all you had to do was defend your actions."

“You put everybody's friendships in a really difficult position,” Brock added as Sandoval responded, “What I did was horrible but neither Raquel, nor I, did that out of any sort of malicious intent. But we felt that things were done towards us with very specific malicious intent.”

The conversation concluded with Brock telling him, “The only advice I can give you is your feelings are valid, but you just got to understand that there's other people involved in this whole thing. We're not your enemy. We’re just very hurt friends.”

After the confrontation, Sandoval still wanted his friends to take responsibility for their actions in the aftermath of the scandal.

“I feel like they're expecting me to just come in and grovel at their feet and beg for forgiveness,” he shared in a confessional. “But, they're failing to acknowledge the way they came after me. Talking s--- about me on social media, selling merch hardcore, pushing conspiracy theories on podcasts. This isn't just about them forgiving me, this is something we need to mutually move on from together.”

Later, the group checked out Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant Wolf. After sitting down at a table, Lisa pressed James Kennedy to come up with one thing he liked about Sandoval, but the DJ refused to answer.

“I feel very put on the spot but then I think about how much he must feel put on the spot. It's kind of embarrassing," James said in a confessional.

The awkward moment led Sandoval to realize it was time to break the ice with Kennedy, 32, and have a one-on-one conversation with his estranged friend. He explained, “I want to acknowledge his feelings and I feel like if I don’t just rip that band-aid off, it won't happen.”

“I don't want to cause any problems,” Sandoval told James. “I don't want to create hostility. Just want to coexist… When it went down, I was scared to talk to you. Like, it just was so overwhelming.”

However, James argued that Sandoval still didn’t have an excuse “to beset and betray” him by having an affair with his ex Rachel, but Sandoval clarified, “I never, and nor did she, mean to hurt anybody.”

James believed that Sandoval could have handled the situation differently and broken up with his ex Ariana Madix before starting things with Rachel. He explained, “You don't think if you were smart enough that you could have ended things with Ariana and then actually made things work out with Raquel without things blowing up the way they did?"

He said Sandoval ultimately didn’t “man up” and leave the relationship, and then pressed him on whether he planned to be with Rachel now.

“I don't know, man,” Sandoval responded. “I'm basically torn between resentment and love.”

He added in a confessional, “It wasn't just about being with Rachel. It was also getting out of a relationship that I know wasn't suiting my life. The path that I was on was not a good path. It needed to change.”

James felt Sandoval flushed their friendship “down the f---ing drain” in favor of his affair. In a confessional, he told cameras, “Tom Sandoval was the last person in Hollywood that was going to f--- me over you know, he was the one guy that I really did trust with all my might. It just blows my mind that he was the one to backstab me, like harder than anyone else ever has.”

Sandoval then acknowledged his mistakes, saying, “I screwed up and hurt people and I know I hurt James. I'm taking accountability for that… I want to acknowledge his feelings and make amends.”
