In the wake of Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn’s breakup, some Swifties are paying their respects in absurd ways: ‘im a swiftie but this is a lot’
In early April, Swifties were rocked by the devastating news of Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn‘s breakup after six years of coupledom. Now, they’re mourning the end of the relationship in some, well, absurd ways.
Swifties have long been privy to the Grammy winner’s dating woes, and many fans thought that Alwyn was the one for her. In an effort to cope with this devastating breakup, fans have gone so far as to visit Swift’s old residence on Cornelia Street in New York City to pay their respects.
Jasmine (@scoutedbyjasmine) reposted a video by TikTok user Oliver Schwartz (@oliver.schwartz), in which he’s seen walking to Swift’s former townhouse on the aforementioned street.
Kaite Hubler (@gingeraleprincess99) paid her respects in a similar fashion.
TikTok user Kyle (@earthtokyle), who lives across from Swift’s old townhouse, recorded some Swifties “literally leaving flowers.”
College student Liza Gandhi (@alizajgandhi) was walking by the Cornelia Street residence and opted to take a bouquet of flowers left by a Swiftie.
“She’s single, not dead,” Liza says.
“Why are people acting like Cornelia street is for joe?”
While the fanbase seems to be collectively mourning the end of the Swift-Alwyn era, some Swifties aren’t on board with the fact that people are loitering outside a townhouse she hasn’t lived at for years. It’s also worth noting that many Swifties are convinced that the track “Cornelia Street,” which is off Swift’s 2019 album Lover, is about her former friend, model Karlie Kloss.

“Y’all wild. Let her be,” @harleyher8 wrote.
“i’m a swiftie but this is a lot,” @margaretonmars admitted.
“wait who actually believes cornelia street is about joe are they crazy?? it’s the most kaylor song of them all,” @thegenesimmonsboots replied.
“People are strange,” @chestersmom12345 said.
Swifties are entitled to feel however they do about the Swift-Alwyn breakup, but perhaps it’s better for everyone if they refrain from visiting a residence that’s no longer occupied by the Midnights singer.
