The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live has unveiled its first extensive trailer and story details.

The clip offers the first full footage of Michonne (Danai Gurira) searching to find her former partner, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), following his kidnapping by the CRM group.

Pollyanna McIntosh is back as the CRM's warrant officer, Jadis Stokes, and we also see Lost's Terry O'Quinn as the group's ruthless military leader, Major General Beale, quizzing Rick on why he'd been kidnapped.

In addition to the trailer, AMC has unveiled the show's official synopsis: "The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power.

"By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?"

This is the sixth spin-off of the main series and joins two other recent shows that continue the stories of the original Walking Dead series.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will premiere on February 25 on AMC and AMC+ in the US. Its parent show can be streamed on AMC and Netflix in the US and STAR on Disney+ in the UK.
