Wednesday’s noms announcement will actually kick off at 6:50 a.m. PT when an introduction by SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher will be followed by the nominees announced for Outstanding Action Performances by Film and Television ensembles.

Drescher surely will touch on last year’s SAG-AFTRA strike over a new TV/Theatrical contract. The action lasted 118 days, and coupled with a twin Writers Guild strike resulted in seven months of labor action in Hollywood and the first joint strike in the industry in more than 60 years.

Last year’s SAG Awards, to refresh, solidified the rise of eventual Best Picture Oscar winner Everything Everywhere All at Once, which won four trophies including the marquee Cast category. Abbott Elementary and The White Lotus took the Cast awards on the TV side.

This year’s SAG Awards will include the presentation of Barbra Streisand receiving the SAG Life Achievement Award.

The ceremony is being produced by Silent House Productions (Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love), with Jon Brockett, Baz Halpin, Mark Bracco and Linda Gierahn executive producers.
