A first trailer for season 13 of Waterloo Road has been released, teasing new shenanigans for old and fresh faces of the beloved comprehensive school.

The clip dropped on social channels today (December 26) and sums up another eventful day at Waterloo Road, with headteacher Kim Campbell, played by Angela Griffin (Your Christmas or Mine?), decompressing with a well-deserved drink afterwards.

"Oh, I can't wait to see what day 2 holds," she says before taking a swig.

The trailer for the third revival series offers glimpses of a new school year in which Waterloo Road welcomes a bunch of new students. Among the new cast members are Hattie Dynevor as Libby Guthrie, Zak Sutcliffe as Schumacher 'Schuey' Weever, Tillie Armartey as Stace Neville, Maisie Robinson as Portia Weever and Aabay-Noor Ali as Mollie 'Mog' Richardson.

As the students adjust to the newly launched initiative, it won't take long before they can team up to dial up the chaos, with the first day of school also including some pupils joyriding a bus and a corridor riot. Meanwhile, school caretaker Donte Charles, portrayed by Adam Thomas, warns Tonya against one of the new boys, Schuey.

"Waterloo Road arrives back on our screen in the New Year, with a screech of burning rubber, and we don't let our foot off the gas," Waterloo Road executive producer and founder of Rope Ladder Fiction Cameron Roach said in a statement about the new chapter, which will see Griffin stepping behind the camera to direct episodes 5 and 6.

"We're incredibly proud of the energy and passion this show delivers on and offscreen, Waterloo Road not only delivers phenomenal numbers on BBC iPlayer, specifically for a young audience, but we really value the number of trainees that have now worked on, and graduated from the show, across all craft disciplines."

Waterloo Road season 3 airs its first episode on BBC One on January 2, with more episodes following weekly. The entire eight-episode series becomes available to stream on BBC iPlayer on January 2.
