Wayne Newton has been married to his wife for over 30 years

Wayne Newton, who has long been known as the King of Las Vegas, is a committed husband to his wife of over 30 years, Kathleen McCrone.

McCrone was never a part of the entertainment industry before meeting her husband, who has been performing for over 50 years. The lawyer met Newton at one of his shows in Las Vegas.

She and Newton have one daughter together, Lauren Newton, and McCrone is also a stepmother to her husband's first daughter, Erin.

After a show was briefly sidelined in 2007 following a recurrence of cardiomyopathy, the legendary performer had to lean on the support of his wife.

Newton was diagnosed with the virus in 2001, following a USO tour in Afghanistan, and his doctor was confident that he would be able to resume performances after a period of rest. “He doesn’t want to disappoint people,” McCrone once told PEOPLE. “It means so much to him that the show will go on.”

She’s from Ohio

McCrone was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in March 1964.

Despite being from the midwestern United States, she now lives in Las Vegas with her husband and family.

She is a lawyer

McCrone is a civil and criminal lawyer who got her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University.

Her siblings were also in the entertainment industry

McCrone has two sisters, Mary McCrone and Tricia McCrone. Like her husband, McCrones' siblings are also a part of the entertainment industry in their own way.

Mary was a television producer, writer and director, and worked for a local Cleveland news channel, as well as HGTV. She died after a heart attack in 2010.

Tricia, meanwhile, also works as a television producer and publicist in Las Vegas.

She and Newton have one child together

Newton and McCrone welcomed their daughter, Lauren Ashley Newton, on April 29, 2002.

Following in her dad's footsteps, Lauren has begun her career in the entertainment industry and is known for her role in 2020's Stealing Chaplin.

Newton’s Las Vegas show brought them together

McCrone first met her husband in Las Vegas when she was an audience member for a show that Newton was performing in.

Due to a family connection, McCrone was invited backstage, leading the pair to start dating.

She got married at Casa de Shenandoah

McCrone and Newton’s wedding took place in April 1994 at Casa de Shenandoah — Newton’s 53-acre former home.

The wedding was large and lavish, with 200 guests in attendance. They were transported to the wedding area by horse-drawn carriage.

Newtons’ ranch home was sold in 2010 and then again in 2019. It now serves as a tourist attraction and event venue.

She leads a private life
