Wesley Wong to star in new romance movie

27 Mar – After his successful debut through Jack Neo's movie, "Ah Boys to Men 3: Frogmen", Wesley Wong revealed that he will be working on a new romance film, to be produced by Alex Law ("Echoes of the Rainbow") and directed by a newcomer.

According to Mingpao News, the actor, who agreed to an interview recently alongside his parents, Hong Kong stars Melvin Wong and Angie Chiu, stated that the movie will begin filming in mainland China, though the lead actress has yet to be determined.

"The script was written by my classmate from the Beijing Film Academy," said Wesley. "It's about a middle-aged man who recalls his high school days."

Wesley said that he was the one who helped the scriptwriter to get the movie to the producers.

"They immediately liked it and my classmate will be directing the movie," he enthused.

Meanwhile, according to Oriental Daily, Angie and Melvin have also expressed their happiness with Wesley's current progress in the business.

"I am happy that he is beginning to show potential. I enjoy being a star's father," Melvin joked.

However, Angie stated that she would never do a reality show with her son, and prefers not to work together with Wesley unless there is a great script.

"I want him to develop independently. I don't want people to think he is a mama's boy," she said.
