West Ham vs Bristol City LIVE! FA Cup result, match stream and latest updates today

West Ham were held to a costly FA Cup draw by Championship outfit Bristol City on Sunday as the problems mounted for David Moyes.

Not only do his side, already in the midst of a relentless schedule, now not get a two-week break, the Hammers lost Lucas Paqueta and Konstantinos Mavropanos to injury.

It was the Brazilian who had teed Jarrod Bowen up for the opening goal less than ten minutes into the game with a fine pass over the visiting defence, the England forward then rounding the goalkeeper before firing into an empty net.

That proved to be Paqueta’s last involvement and the Robins started growing into the game. By the time forward Tommy Conway levelled the scores in the second-half, it was the away side who had enjoyed the better chances.

West Ham went close in the dying embers but could not find a way through on a thoroughly frustrating day for the Irons.

Moyes addresses West Ham's transfer plans after injury blows

17:19 , Jonathan Gorrie

David Moyes faces a nervy wait to find out the extent of three key injuries suffered in Sunday’s FA Cup draw with Bristol City, but says his January transfer plans are unlikely to change unless any of them prove severe.

The Hammers were held to a 1-1 draw by the Championship side at the London Stadium and must now travel to Ashton Gate for a replay as they seek a place in the fourth round.

West Ham count cost as injury concerns pile up for David Moyes

16:42 , Jonathan Gorrie

So much had been said of the fact that victory here would bring West Ham the reward of a fortnight’s breather that it almost felt forgotten that a place in the FA Cup fourth round was also on the line.

In the end, the Hammers seized neither prize, Tommy Conway’s second-half leveller cancelling out Jarrod Bowen’s strike to earn Championship Bristol City a 1-1 draw and force the side into a rematch at Ashton Gate in 10 days’ time, one that will cut short the two-week break pencilled into every Premier League club’s schedule.

West Ham player ratings vs Bristol City: Kurt Zouma rusty on return as Hammers toil

16:15 , Jonathan Gorrie

West Ham will need a replay to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup after being pegged back by Championship Bristol City.

The Hammers took an early lead through Jarrod Bowen as David Moyes's decision to name a full-strength side appeared likely to pay off.

However, Tommy Conway's strike midway through the second-half ensured the two teams will meet again at Ashton Gate in ten days's time.

Here's how David Moyes's side rated at the London Stadium...

West Ham vs Bristol City: All hands to the pump

89 mins: The Hammers REALLY don't want a replay, they're throwing everything at this.

Ogbonna has just skied one well over the bar.

That might be the worst I've ever seen. Tommy Conway is genuinely ten yards offside in front of the linesman and he's still let it play out before flagging, just in case.

West Ham vs Bristol City: Lucas Paqueta injury latest

14:55 , Jonathan Gorrie

West Ham have been handed a major injury concern after Lucas Paqueta’s return to action lasted little more than 10 minutes of Sunday’s FA Cup tie against Bristol City.

Paqueta had missed the Hammers’s 0-0 draw with Brighton at the start of the month after suffering a knee problem in the 2-0 win over Arsenal just after Christmas.

That is just an abysmal bit of refereeing. Nothing in it at all, Joe Wiliams has gone down clutching his face and Graham Scott, who was miles away, has had a guess and puts Alvarez in the book.

West Ham vs Bristol City: CHANCE FOR BRISTOL CITY!

14:49 , Jonathan Gorrie

47 mins: We're into the six minutes added on at the end of the first-half here and Fabianski has just caught Dickie's powerful header from a corner.

West Ham now have two fit and available centre-halves. One of them is a 35-year-old Angelo Ogbonna and the other is the injury-prone Kurt Zouma.

West Ham vs Bristol City: Another injury blow for the Hammers

14:40 , Jonathan Gorrie

38 mins: Mavropanos now forced off after that challenge from Conrway.

Ogbonna on to replace him.

The Harry Kane special there from Tommy Conway. Pretty dangerous challenge.

Mavropanos is a big man and lands with a real thud. Looks in a bit of trouble, too.

West Ham vs Bristol City: CHANCE FOR THE HAMMERS!

32 mins: O'Leary now parries Ward-Prowse's volley away!

The Robins 'keeper has kept his team in the game.

West Ham vs Bristol City: CHANCE FOR THE HAMMERS!

14:27 , Jonathan Gorrie

25 mins: So close to a second!

Emerson plays in Bowen, who looks to disguise a pass into Soucek at the back post.

O'Leary, however, is alert to it and stops the Czech from tapping in.

14:23 , Jonathan Gorrie

Vladimir Coufal's got the hump. Another man just back in the team after illness and he seems to be involved in a collision every two minutes. Not been a gentle re-introduction.

West Ham vs Bristol City: Coufal in the wars

14:20 , Jonathan Gorrie

18 mins: Twice now Coufal has been caught by Pring and gone down holding his head.

He's certainly in a battle today!

West Ham vs Bristol City: CHANCE FOR THE HAMMERS

14:15 , Jonathan Gorrie

13 mins: Fornals meets Bowen's cutback but fires only at O'Leary.

Good save but the Hammers forward should be doing better.

West Ham vs Bristol City: Big blow for the Hammers

14:13 , Jonathan Gorrie

11 mins: Despite taking an early lead, West Ham aren't having it all their own way.

Bristol City are growing into this and losing Paqueta is a major blow.

West Ham vs Bristol City: Malik Ouzia at the London Stadium

14:10 , Jonathan Gorrie

Oof. Big concern for West Ham that and you hear the groan go up around the ground. Looks like the same knee issue that caused him a problem at Arsenal. Divin Mubama is about to come on.

West Ham vs Bristol City: CHANCE FOR BRISTOL CITY!

14:09 , Jonathan Gorrie

07 mins: Bell gets inside Emerson before firing one at Fabianski, who can only push the ball away.

Paqueta clears the resulting corner.

West Ham's opener comes from neither of those players being in the position I said. Paqueta with a peach of a ball from deep and Bowen's run terrific.

West Ham vs Bristol City: GOAL! Jarrod Bowen '05

14:06 , Jonathan Gorrie

05 mins: GOAL!

Wave after wave of West Ham attack leads the first goal. Paqueta sends a lovely ball over the top and behind the Bristol City backline, allowing Bowen to bring it down, round the goalkeeper and fire into the empty net.

It is an absolutely freezing afternoon in east London. A huge allocation of 9,000 Bristol City fans have made the trip and we're told it's a sellout among the home crowd as well, although whether the stadium ends up full given all the train troubles is another matter.

12:02 , Jonathan Gorrie

From the moment Mohammed Kudus arrived at West Ham last summer, it was known that David Moyes’s side would have to do without the Ghana international during this month’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Whether anyone could have predicted he would leave quite such a big gap, however, is another question.
