West Ham will be without Kurt Zouma as they take on Brentford in a Premier League London derby today.

The captain missed Wednesday's Carabao Cup tie with Arsenal because of a knee problem as the Hammers set up a quarter-final against Liverpool thanks to a rousing 3-1 home win and remains out today.

"Not sure yet," said West Ham boss David Moyes on Friday, when asked whether Zouma would return to face the Bees. "He’s done a little bit of training. We need to assess him and see how he goes. He trained a little bit on Wednesday and a bit on Thursday as well so let’s hope he’s in with a chance."

Moyes was certain to be without both Lucas Paqueta and Edson Alvarez after the pair picked up their respective fifth yellow cards of the season in last Sunday's defeat by Everton.

Those absences will force Moyes into a midfield reshuffle, with Tomas Soucek returning to a deeper role alongside James Ward-Prowse, while Said Benrahma starts against his former club.
