“Wheel of Fortune ”contestant who guessed 'Right in the butt' says he'd never used phrase before game show

Tavaris Williams revealed that he told his wife "immediately" about the flub: "I will keep everything a secret except this — this you have to know about."

Wheel of Fortune contestant Tavaris Williams is finding the joy in “spreading a lot of smiles around the world” after his shocking NSFW answer on the game show went viral last week.

While visiting Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday, the Port St. Lucie, Fla., native discussed the hilarious incident, in which he guessed “right up the butt” when the puzzle’s correct answer was "this is the best." He also got a chance to redeem himself with a brand-new, equally cheeky puzzle on the late-night show.

Williams, who signed up for WOF after his kids dared him to, said host Pat Sajak made sure to check in on him after his big flub.

“Pat was the best — he made me feel so great about that at the break,” he recalled. “He said, ‘You know, we’ll find a tactful way of editing it. I don’t know how, but we’ll do it.’”

But the contestant knew exactly whom to tell about the situation once he got home. As he informed host Jimmy Kimmel, “I told my wife immediately after: ‘I will keep everything a secret except this — this you have to know about. They said they might edit it, but I don’t know what it’s going to look like.’ And then it was out of sight, out of mind until the world reminded me of what I said.”

Williams also took a moment to clarify that his answer on the show is not a phrase he utters normally: “I have never used those words in sequential order a day in my life, Jimmy.”

He ultimately won almost $10,000 on the show but acknowledged “that’s what most people will never know" because "they just see the clip" online.

“I had to hang in there," he said, "and I thought I made a good showing of it!”

Kimmel then gave Williams the chance to “redeem yourself” by putting a nearly completed new puzzle on the screen that read: “All hands on d_ck.”

A laughing Williams replied, “You’re the worst, Jimmy. ‘All hands on deck,’ my friend.”
