The White Lotus's Jennifer Coolidge confirms Tanya's future in Emmys acceptance speech
The White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge has confirmed the future of her character Tanya McQuoid, after she died at the end of the comedy drama's second season.
The suitably "derpy" death comes after the wealthy holiday-maker finds herself aboard a boat full of homicidal homosexuals, with Tanya delivering the now infamous line: "These gays are trying to murder me!"
Tanya eventually dispatches the gang, and is moments away from freedom, before she falls off the side of the yacht, hits her head on the boat and swims with the fishes forevermore instead.
Coolidge won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Tanya on January 15, and while accepting the award, shed some light on Tanya's future.

In a video of her acceptance speech, available to watch above, Coolidge thanked series creator Mike White, and revealed Tanya's fate once and for all:
"Mike White, thank you for this – thank you for giving me this opportunity to play this incredible character, and he says I'm definitely dead, so I'm going along with it."
Coolidge then added, "I want to thank all the evil gays," for her award.

The third season of The White Lotus has recently fleshed out its cast with a bevy of additions, including Harry Potter franchise star Jason Isaacs, Fargo's Carrie Coon and Neighbours actress Morgana O'Reilly.
Parker Posey, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Dom Hetrakul, Tayme Thapthimthong, Christian Friedel, Miloš Biković, Lek Patravadi and Shalini Peiris will also star in the show's third instalment, which is set to start filming in February in and around Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok.
Season one star Natasha Rothwell is also set to return.
The White Lotus can be streamed on NOW and Sky Go in the UK, and on Max in the US.
