Who Did Ronnie Lock In The Car? Is Denny Going To Make It? EastEnders Leaves Us All Guessing After Christmas Day Cliffhangers

We all put down the Quality Street tin last night as the EastEnders theme tune rang out through the living room at 8:45, and, needless to say, we were full-on hyped for a festive spectacular of death, destruction, and questionable Christmas jumpers.

However, the nation has been left on tenterhooks after not one, not two but THREE people are seemingly facing the proverbial chop this Christmas – but we’re yet to find out who.

First off, we all thought that the Demon Child of Walford AKA Bobby Beale had gone and ‘done a Lucy’ on spider enthusiast Dennis Rickman – after the pair had headed off to Walford Common and only Bobby returned, with some mysterious red stuff all over his trainers.

Anyway, it turned out that Phil 'Special Brew’ Mitchell would be the one to send Denny off to Walford General – after the precious Land Rover overturned when Phil spun out of control following a few too many cans at the most awks Christmas dinner imaginable.

Viewers saw Sharon having palpitations after Denny slipped out of consciousness in the hospital, and leaving the rest of us to wonder if he’d make it through.

Come on though guys, hasn’t Sharon got enough on her plate?

Surprise imminent death number two came from Phil himself, after an eagle-eyed doctor at the hospital noticed that he looked a tad rough (understatement of the century). Random Doctor #3625 informed Phil that this Christmas would be his last if he didn’t knock the booze on the head – because he’s now for cirrhosis of the liver.

HAAAAPPY CHRISTMAS, MITCHELLS! Almost makes you wish for the return of the good old days of Phil’s crack addition, right?

But of course, the drama didn’t end there. After Ronnie 'Unhinged Is My Middle Name’ Mitchell realised that it wasn’t Vincent who she got locked in the boot of the car (seriously Ronnie, when you’re attempting murder you really do need to check these smaller details), we were all wondering who else it could be.

So far, we’ve got three options:

  1. Claudette – the Hubbard matriarch was absent for the entirety of Christmas Day, which no one in the Fox-Hubbard household seemed particularly bothered by. More to the point, if Claudette goes, who will do Les’ hair and nails in 2016?

  2. Fatboy – loveable schmuck Arthur Chubb was seen leaving The Square in a very low-key manner yesterday, which is a bit unusual for a character that’s loomed fairly large over the past few years. Could Ronnie have mucked it up BIG TIME and killed off this sweet prince by mistake?

  3. Goosey Lucy – after having her very own 'Free Willy’ moment with Mick at the allotments, we’re yet to hear any more about Goosey Lucy’s fate. Did she hop on a plane to Portugal to see Aunty Peg? Will she board a coach to Manchester like 60% of the former cast? OR IS SHE ABOUT TO BE CRUSHED TO DEATH AT THE CAR LOT?! Only time will tell.

So – who, if any, will make it out of Walford alive this year? Tune in tonight for (hopefully) some more answers to all of this and more.
