Widower takes framed photo of his late wife to the beach every day as a symbol of ‘a love that does not end’
A devastated widower is keeping the love he shared with his late wife very much alive by carrying a photo of her wherever he goes.
Giuseppe Giordano lost his wife Ida to cancer seven years ago and he has carried a framed photo of his wife with him ever since.
The 70-year-old makes a special effort to take the picture to a beach in Gaeta, Italy, to watch the sun set over the horizon alongside Ida.
It is a particularly poignant place for the couple as it is where they spent the early days of their relationship.
Giorgio Moffa, 54, the owner of a pizzeria near the beach, spotted Giuseppe sitting with the photo last month and decided to find out more about his story.
He wrote on Facebook: ‘A few days ago, I didn’t know this splendid person. I only know that his was certainly a great love.

Giuseppe told Giorgio that he takes the picture to the same spot every day as a symbol of ‘a love that does not end’.
The couple first met in 1969 when Giuseppe was 16 and Ida was 17 and they were married in the same year, going on to have two more children, living together until 2011, when Ida died.
