Wife Goes Viral for Sharing What Husband Packs Her for Lunch — Including Butter and Bottles of BBQ Sauce (Exclusive)

A husband's interpretation of what his wife needed for lunch went viral after it turned into a series of "chaos lunches."
Annie, on Tiktok @ahoskins917, never expected to go viral as she shared her husband's silly but effective way of packing her a lunch for her workday. The middle school teacher unveiled the outside-the-box lunches in a TikTok video last month.
"For a long time, I packed Janson's lunch because he left earlier in the morning than I did. Then he got a new job and I had to leave a lot earlier," she tells PEOPLE.
"So he started packing my lunches, just to make life easier, and I don't know how the chaos started," she says with a laugh.
The viral video shows Annie sitting at her desk, assessing what Janson packed her because she couldn't fit it into her fridge.
"I just got to school and didn't have anything to do that morning. I thought, 'I watch a lot of people who make their kids' lunches. I'll do one like, 'My husband packed my lunch.' "
In the video, she begins, "On today's episode of my husband packed my lunch. I have to go through it first thing in the morning because it doesn't fit in my fridge. It's gonna be a doozy."

She begins by pulling out a family-sized bag of pretzel crisps and a complete package of Laughing Cow cheese.
"That's like one of my favorite things," she says, moving on to, "A bottle of barbecue sauce that the lid wasn't on."
Next, she pulls out, "A cutie ... from my cutie."
Next, she produces a container full of liquid, which after holding for a moment she recognizes as melted butter. The lunch also includes skirt steak and a full package of King's Hawaiian rolls.
"So let me decipher this," she says, explaining Janson's thought process. "Butter on the Hawaiian rolls with the steak on it as a sandwich dipped in Open Pit, with a side snack of Laughing Cow Cheese and pretzel crisps, and an afternoon snack of a cutie."
Taking a moment to think about it, she says, "It's not a bad lunch. I didn't need this much, but I'm appreciative."
Clearing up the controversy over the condiments, Annie admits that the butter wasn't actually melted when it was packed.
"People were so mad that that butter was melted and it was only melted because I left my lunch bag, which was a Walmart bag, on the floorboard of my car and I had the heat cranked," she says. "So it wasn't that he sent me with melted butter; it was I accidentally melted it on my way to work."
The viral moment has since amassed over 2 million views as people comment on the couple's dynamic and the resulting lunches.
Janson tells PEOPLE that there is a method to his madness.
"My office is only five minutes away, so I could leave a lot later in the morning," Janson says. "We both have had bariatric surgery, so we can't really eat a whole lot. Some days, we're hungrier than other days, so I didn't really know how much she could eat."
"So I was like, 'Well, I'm just going to give her the ingredients, and then she can eat as much or as little as she thinks she can throughout the day.' "
Annie also admits, "I am also oddly particular about — not what I eat, per se, but how it's assembled. My family gives me a hard time because I eat things in a very specific way. So a lot of times he sends me things in ingredient form, that way I can put them together the way I'll actually eat them."
She was surprised when commenters thought that Janson was purposely doing a "bad job" at packing her lunch, noting that it's what works for them.
"It just was how he packed my lunch, so I kept doing it and by the second one, people were up in arms," she says. "[The comments] were like, 'This is ridiculous. What is wrong with him?' "
Janson decided to start defending his method with his own videos, offering a look at him putting the "chaos lunches" together.
"After several videos, I saw a few people say, 'We'd like to see how he does it.' So I just went for it. I've had TikTok before to watch funny videos, but I would never say I was trying to be a content creator by any means. But I was like, 'Sure, I'll try to get a little bit more of a following.' "
While Annie jokes that her commenters "strong-armed him" into sharing his process, she's happy Janson has started sharing with their community, who now calls them "Mr. and Mrs. Cutie," after the daily snack he packs her.
Janson still catches flack here and there, like when he packed Annie some fondue supplies.
"Everyone gives me a hard time in the comments about the fondue, but it's my favorite. I went on a real kick there with the green apples dipped in the fondue with the Worcestershire sauce," she explains. "Everyone was really up in arms about that one, but that's a snack that I just thoroughly enjoy."
"Also the little steak sandwiches, again, made it even more fun that everyone was really mad that he didn't assemble them for me. But everything he packs me is my favorite food. He knows what I eat."
The couple has enjoyed building a community that's all about celebrating their silliness with others.
"It's been a lot of fun. I've had so much serotonin, all the good endorphins of giggling with people," Annie says.
"I feel like we have people who are invested in, not just my lunches but ... they want to see what we do. We just came back from Mexico and they were hoping we had fun. They're invested in us and I like to follow them back and see what they're up to."
Janson also enjoys the connection, adding, "I think for the most part, both of us being extroverts, we just like to have that back and forth with people in the comments so that's probably overall the best part of it."
