A Windsor man has been identified as the victim in what Chatham-Kent police say they are now treating as a homicide.

Officers first responded around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday to a report that a man had been shot, police said in a statement. Upon arrival at Towanda Boulevard in Erie Beach, they located a man dead.

Police said Thursday he has been identified as Michael Allard, 40, from Windsor and are investigating his death as a murder.

Allard's death is considered isolated, police said in a media statement Thursday.

Anyone with information or surveillance video related to the investigation is asked to contact the Chatham-Kent Police Service or CrimeStoppers to remain anonymous.
