Trends come and go, but every generation can appreciate a good sense of style.

London-based stylist Lara Grayson uses her chic taste to connect with her neighbors, Josie and Charlie, a married couple in their 80s. Grayson, 32, has documented their reactions to her elaborate outfits in several adorable TikTok videos that have captured the hearts of millions online.

Since she started posting their interactions in December, Grayson has added 14 parts to the ongoing series. Her most viral TikTok — which has nearly 4 million views and over 500,000 likes — starts with a glimpse of the fashion professional’s outfit: a white turtleneck dress styled with gold boots, a black blazer and a silver purse.

“Oh glam!” Josie said as she opened the door with her impressed husband behind her. “Love the boots,” she added.

Grayson’s “built-in grandparents,” as one commenter called them, vocalized their appreciation after asking her to “give us a twirl” — a request they make many times throughout the series.

While they always lead with positivity, the duo never fails to deliver some wit in their remarks: “Hope you ain’t got dandruff,” Josie joked with a laugh after complimenting Grayson’s black velvet blazer.

In the first video of the series, the older woman even asked if Grayson was wearing a bra. When she admitted she wasn’t, Charlie covered his eyes and riffed, “My blood pressure’s gone up!”

Grayson tells PEOPLE that her friendship with Charlie and Josie started over a year ago, when she moved into their building. She was constantly receiving mail for her work as a freelance stylist, and the couple would often bring her packages inside when Grayson wasn’t home.

The unlikely trio became friendly, and Grayson looked forward to hearing their thoughts on her outfits. She notes that they hang out off-camera too, to have coffee, chat and watch movies together.

“They kept commenting on what I was wearing or what they had seen me go out in and I just thought it was really cute,” says Grayson, who has worked in the fashion industry for over 10 years, starting with editorial work for a magazine before she ventured into celebrity styling.

The TikToker knew her interactions with Josie and Charlie would make a great video, and she found the perfect time to capture it on camera.

“I was going to a wedding that I told them about, and they said make sure you show us your outfit,” Grayson recalls. “[I] just thought I would film it for the fun of it, and that was the first one I posted.”

In the past few months, viewers have shared their appreciation for her intergenerational friendship in the videos’ comments.

“I live for these! Please keep making them. They remind me of my grandparents,” one sentimental TikTok user wrote.

“You bring so much joy to them,” reads another comment. “It’s beautiful to watch!! They look forward to it you can clearly see it.”

The joy is mutual, Grayson tells PEOPLE.

“I just love making them laugh and smile, which is why I do it,” she says. “I can tell if they don’t like something but they’re always so lovely and make me feel like a million dollars!”
