Xabi Alonso: Liverpool hope as Bayer Leverkusen open door to exit after Bundesliga title win
Xabi Alonso has been tipped to manage at Real Madrid in the future by Bayer Leverkusen‘s chief executive, who also opened the door to a move to Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro saw Alonso on Sunday seal the club's first ever Bundesliga title, ending Bayern Munich's 11-year dominance in a season which is still yet to include a defeat for one of the most exciting clubs on the continent.
Such form saw both Liverpool and Bayern line Alonso up as their preferred manager target - with Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel set to depart Anfield and the Allianz Arena, respectively, at the end of the season.
Alonso soon after announced he would be staying with Leverkusen for another season, and now Carro has spoken more about his manager's future.
"I have no doubt that Xabi Alonso will coach Real Madrid at some point," Carro told Cadena Ser. "What I am not clear about is when, but that he will end up at Real Madrid I have no doubt, as it is also possible that he trains Liverpool or Bayern.
"There are a lot of clubs interested, that's how it is, which doesn't mean that in the future he can't coach some of the clubs mentioned, especially his former teams as a player.
"But he feels comfortable here, otherwise he wouldn't continue. We will maintain our ambition to play in the Champions League next year."
