Yeoh breaks silence over dad's passing

7 Nov – Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh who is known for her role in the 1997 "James Bond" film "Tomorrow Never Dies" and also martial arts film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" finally breaks her silence on the loss of her father, Yeoh Kian Teik who passed two days ago.

She reminisced on all the time she spent with her beloved father and told The Star that her father was "a wonderful man and her hero."

"He taught us to be individuals, to believe in ourselves and if we make mistakes, we should learn from them," said Yeoh to the reporters at the wake of their home yesterday.

She tearfully added, "I hope whatever I have done, and continue to do, I will always make him proud." Datuk Yeoh Kian Teik had passed away at the age of 89 last Wednesday, 5 November 2014 at 6.15pm at his home in Ipoh.

According to Michelle Yeoh's brother, his father who was the former Perak MCA chairman died of old age and the whole family including Michelle Yeoh was there during his last moments.

Yeoh admitted that she received a call from her family on her dad's deteriorating health condition while she was shooting in Budapest for a television series called "Strike Back".

"I came back three days ago, I am glad that I managed to spend some time with my father," added the actress.

Also, Yeoh is currently involved with the film, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon II: The Green Legend", the sequel to the 2000 film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", that is expected to be released next year.
