YG Entertainment announces debut of new girl group Babymonster

YG Entertainment on Tuesday made announcements regarding its highly anticipated girl group, BABYMONSTER.

Debut: The septet, whose members were finalized earlier this year, will officially debut in November, YG said. The group was initially set to debut in September but their musical introduction was delayed over track considerations, according to Yonhap News.

“We paid careful attention in selecting the title track in order to repay with the best result,” YG said, as per Soompi. “Consequently, the [girl group’s] debut was slightly delayed from September as we originally informed, and we ask for [fans’] understanding.”

About the group: BABYMONSTER consists of local and international members, including Ahyeon, Haram and Rora from Korea, Asa and Ruka from Japan, and Chiquita and Pharita from Thailand. This will be YG’s first girl group in seven years after BLACKPINK.

In the meantime: YG said all preparations for the debut have been completed. The group is reportedly practicing the choreography for their title track, whose filming is slated for the end of October.

BABYMONSTER released their pre-debut song “Dream” in May.
