YouTuber Ben ‘Comicstorian’ Potter Cause Of Death Revealed
Ben Potter, the popular YouTuber known as Comicstorian, died of blunt force injuries to the head due to a single vehicle rollover crash, the the Larimer County, Colorado, Coroner’s Office has revealed.
The 40-year-old resident of Windsor, Colorado, died June 8 at a location identified as 2237 SW Frontage Road in Fort Collins, Colorado. His death was announced earlier this week by his wife, Nathalie Potter, who did not detail the circumstances of his passing.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, Potter was driving southbound on I-25 at 9:19 a.m. local time Saturday when his Toyota 4Runner drifted off the right shoulder, crossed Frontage Road and rolled several times. Though wearing a seatbelt, he died at the scene. No other person was in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved.
Investigators do not suspect drugs, alcohol or speeding were factors in the crash. A full forensic autopsy was performed on June 10 at the Larimer County Forensic Sciences Center by Dr. J. White, D.O.
With more than 3 million subscribers and nearly 4,000 YouTube videos posted during the past 10 years, Potter, as Comicstorian, built a devoted fanbase with his original audio dramas of comic books. In many YouTube videos, he discussed and analyzed aspects of the the Marvel and DC universes.
“To many of you, he was Comicstorian,” wrote his wife, “voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for.
“As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger,” she continued, “Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who would listen and make time for his loved ones. He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our rock and he’d reassure his loved ones whenever they needed it.”
His wife called Potter’s channel “one of his greatest accomplishments,” and vowed that she and Potter’s team “want to keep that going” to “honor him by continuing to tell great stories by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive.”
“We supported each other on everything we wanted to do and I’m not about to stop now,” she wrote.
