Yoyo Mung denies hefty compensation

20 Oct – Actress Yoyo Mung, who left TVB to join HKTV, recently dismissed rumours that she was paid a hefty sum as compensation by the company for their failure to obtain the free-to-air TV license from the government.

As reported on Oriental Daily website, following reports of the Hong Kong government rejection of HKTV's application, HKTV's CEO Ricky Wong had to lay off hundreds of workers and halt the filming of the company's two upcoming series "Public Sexuality" starring Jason Chan and Meiki Wong, and "Sky Net" which stars Yoyo Mung and Frankie Lam.

Speaking to the media at the filming set of her supposedly new series in Central, Yoyo denied rumours that she was compensated HKD 600,000 (approx. USD 77,380) for the series' cancellation, and expressed her disbelief that it would be her last day on set.

The 40-year-old actress said, "It was a pity that that happened. Although we only collaborated briefly, I can see how much effort the crew puts into the production. But we should give Mr. Wong some space right now so he can decide on what to do with his employees."
