Zenless Zone Zero: All 15 playable characters we know of so far

Playable characters in Zenless Zone Zero are split between 'A' and 'S' Rank rarities, the equivalent of 4-stars and 5-stars in Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, respectively.

HoYoverse — the developer of popular RPG games Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Honkai Impact 3rd, and more — is preparing to release its newest title, Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) this year.

ZZZ will be an action-adventure game with roguelite elements and there are plenty of reasons why you should be excited about this game after its second beta test, as more details continue to be revealed to us.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by dimensional rifts called the Hollows, ZZZ’s story centres around the citizens of New Eridu, specifically a few with a "Proxy" designation, people that guide groups into the Hollows to gather resources or complete missions.

Currently, there are 15 playable agents divided into four factions (Plus one that is still unknown at this point): Gentle House AKA Cunning Hares, Victoria Housekeeping Co., Belobog Industries, and Section 6.

Playable characters in ZZZ are also split between 'A' and 'S' Rank rarities, the equivalent of 4-stars and 5-stars in Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, respectively.

So, if you’re curious to know more about the characters, here’s everything we know so far about the confirmed playable characters of ZZZ.

Anby Demara (A Rank)

Anby will be the first playable character you can encounter when you play the game in story mode. Based on her background story, her origins are unknown but gradually became stronger when Nicole took her in. Anby wields a sword that can deal Electric damage.

If you’re the type who typically likes the sword on your characters so you can hack and slash enemies all the way through, Anby might be a great choice.

Billy Kid (A Rank)

He’s the second playable character in the game. In the game, he’s described as be “cyborg” who’s an avid fan of a specific show named Starlight Knights. Spirited and full of energy, Billy has two guns (which he fondly calls “the girls”).

He deals Physical damage, specializing in Pierce damage. Although he’s quite goofy, he’s by far one of the fan favourites in the Hollows because of the amount of damage he deals to enemies without even having to go near them.

He also has some of the flashiest moves that pack a punch in-game, so it’s always so fun to watch him pull them off like he’s coming from an anime full of action.

Nicole Demara (A Rank)

Nicole, an A-Rank character with the Ether attribute, specializes in Strike damage. As the leader of the Cunning Hares odd-job agency, she accepts various Hollow-related commissions.

With many years on the streets, Nicole is known for her cunning nature, leading to blacklisting by numerous clients due to her all-or-nothing approach.

Nicole uses a hammer and has skills that deploy a force field or energy field that serves as crowd control. Her attacks are pretty slow generally, but combining her skills with attacks by Anby and Billy makes for a pretty efficient combination.

Nekomata (S Rank)

if you’re looking for an agent that would be able to quickly take a boss down, Nekomata should be in your team.(Photo: HoYoverse)

Nekomata, also known as Nekomiya Mana, an S Rank character with the Physical attribute, excels in dealing Slash damage and is a member of the Cunning Hares.

Spirited and mischievous, she enjoys playing tricks and has a knack for adopting your wallet as her own.

She's witnessed her fair share of cat-astrophes and "curiosity killed the cat" moments, holding many unspoken secrets in her mischievous journey.

Nekomata wields a small blade to quickly hack and slash through enemies. So far, she has one of the highest attack stats among all agents in ZZZ, so if you’re looking for an agent that would be able to quickly take a boss down, Nekomata should be in your team.

Anton Ivanov (A Rank)

Anton Ivanov is another A Rank character with the Electric attribute who specialises in dealing Pierce Damage and belongs to the Belobog Heavy Industries faction.

Constantly on the move, he is a senior team member and onsite project manager for Belobog Industries. Dedicated and trustworthy.

Anton uses a drill as a weapon and can come up with shields to defend himself. Anton’s ultimate skill also buffs his entire team’s crit rate by 6% for 15 seconds.

Ben Bigger (A Rank)

Belonging to the Belobog Heavy Industries faction, Ben is an A-rank character with the Fire attribute. He specialises in dealing with Strike damage.

He discovered a simple way to keep himself occupied during times of peace by returning to accounting while fighting thugs on the battlefield with his pillar... (yes, an actual pillar). He has committed all 58 account ledgers in his office to memory and is meticulous with his bookkeeping because of his innate sensitivity to numbers.

Most of Ben’s skills are centred on blocking and dodging enemy skills, making him an ideal character for defence.

Grace Howard (S Rank)

Grace is one of the S Rank characters in ZZZ who belongs to the Belobog Industries Faction. She specializes in Pierce damage and has the Electric attribute.

Based on her gameplay in the closed beta, she’s quite fleet-footed, and uses what looks like a gun (although we aren’t entirely sure since not much information has been given about her) that releases electric charges against the enemy.

She also throws grenades, which reduces her enemy’s electric resistance.

Koleda (S Rank)

Koleda is another of the first S Rank characters revealed in the game, with a knack for unleashing powerful Strike damage, fueled by the fiery attribute.

Within the ranks of the Belobog Heavy Industries faction, she may be small, but her ability to wield a massive hammer speaks volumes. Noteworthy as one of the initial playable S Rank characters, Koleda assumes the role of the youthful president at the helm of Belobog Industries.

She makes use of construction tools as her weapons too, with a large Pipe Wrench on her right hand, and her main weapon, and a makeshift hammer on her left, which serves as her main weapon.

Koleda and Ben can team up when fighting together to launch coordinated attacks, further increasing the power of the attack. Koleda is invulnerable while using this skill.

Corin Wickes (A Rank)

Corin, an A-Rank character with the Physical attribute, specializes in dealing Slash damage and is a member of the Victoria Housekeeping Co. faction.

Corin tackles chores and tasks with unwavering dedication, downplaying her efforts with modest protests. Recognized for her obedient, diligent, and responsible approach, she fearlessly embraces hard work.

It’s a bit hard to figure out what her weapon is, at first I thought it was some electric cleaning device or a special mop but apparently, it’s an electric chainsaw.

Corin’s attack isn’t very strong, but her kit has some elements that provide support to the team she provides energy recovery and reduces enemy resistance.

Ellen Joe (S Rank)

Ellen is another S Rank character with the Ice attribute, specializing in dealing Slash damage, and she also belongs to the Victoria Housekeeping Co. faction.

Her Ice attribute allows her to freeze enemies once in a while to deal damage to them more effectively. Equipped with a spear-like weapon (except the end is a knife or blade), Ellen’s moves are a bit similar to Anby’s except that her attacks aren’t as close range, and she deals both Physical and Ice damage.

Von Lycaon (S Rank)

Von Lycaon, also known as Lycaon, is an S Rank character with the Ice attribute, excelling in delivering Strike damage, and is affiliated with the Victoria Housekeeping Co. faction.

Renowned for his ability to handle any situation, he stands as the most reliable attendant and steadfast support for any team.

Lycaon uses his fists and legs to deal damage and can stun and “daze” enemies with his attacks.

Rina (S Rank)

Alexandrina Sebastiane, also known as Rina, is an S Rank character with the Electric attribute and is affiliated with the Victoria Housekeeping Co. faction. She excels in dealing Strike and Pierce damage.

Rina's elegance persists even amid combat, akin to the stirring and powerful notes of a New World Symphony.

Unlike most agents who deal damage with physical weapons, Rina’s movement and ranged attacks are similar to how a mage would engage in combat, as she strikes down enemies with electric damage.

Although she isn’t as fast as the others, a lot of her attacks can stagger or stun enemies, so combining her with high-damage or fast attack agents could be ideal.

Soukaku (A Rank)

Soukaku is quite useful in freezing enemies, reducing their Ice RES, and boosting her team’s attack stats and skill levels. (Photo: HoYoverse)

Soukaku, an A-Rank character with the Ice attribute, excels in delivering Slash damage and is a member of Section 6.

Her attack stats and movement speed aren’t too impressive, but Soukaku is quite useful in freezing enemies, reducing their Ice RES, and boosting her team’s attack stats and skill levels. This makes Soukaku an ideal support for the team.

Solider 11 (S Rank)

Soldier 11, an S Rank character with the Fire attribute, excels in Slash damage and is a member of the OBOLS Squad faction.

She embodies a model soldier, demanding strict adherence to orders and unwavering loyalty to the mission—according to her standards. Believing that weapons should lack emotions and merely follow orders, Soldier 11 holds a disciplined mindset.

Confronting powerful enemies with unwavering determination, she has discarded weakness along with her name, embracing only resolve, or so Soldier 11 believes.

Like Nekomata, Soldier 11 has the strongest attack stats among all agents. Soldier 11 has great energy recovery because of Rapid Heat, one of her Talents, making her ideal for missions with hack-and-slash marathons, or to whittle down boss health.

Soldier 11 synergises well with other Fire and Slash agents. An additional Fire agent in a team can add to Soldier 11 and the team’s ability to deal and sustain damage, because of energy recovery. Meanwhile, an extra slash agent buffs Soldier 11’s Fire Damage.

Hoshimi Miyabi (A Rank)

Miyabi is an A-Rank agent who is part of Section 6 with Ice Attribute and is adept at inflicting Slash damage.

She is the sixth member of Hollow Special Operations and the heir apparent to a prominent martial arts family in New Eridu. In addition to amassing a large collection of swords, Miyabi has lofty ambitions of creating an impenetrable city management system, driven by her deep sense of duty to protect the principles and order of New Eridu.

Miyabi wasn’t playable yet in the second beta test, so we’ve yet to see how her skills and talents interact with the rest of the agents.
