Zenless Zone Zero opens sign-ups for third closed beta test as game nears release
While no official date for ZZZ's third closed beta test has been announced yet, we can expect it to open in the coming months.
Good news for the citizens of New Eridu! HoYoverse, the developer of popular games like Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, has announced sign-ups for the third closed beta test of Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), their upcoming action-adventure game.
The game takes place in a perilous world where inexplicable disasters known as the "Hollows" are a constant menace. The plot revolves around the destruction of the previous civilisation and the subsequent chaos that ensues on this planet Players assume the role of Proxies, individuals who guide other citizens out of this chaotic environment.
The game first had its closed beta test in 2022 and was previewed at the 2023 Tokyo Games Show and HoYofest 2023.
The second closed beta, which featured a second faction in Belobog Heavy Industries, concluded back in December 2023. That sneak peak into the game got us quite excited, showing that ZZZ is HoYoverse’s unique twist on combat-focused roguelites.
With the third Amplifying test underway, more things will be revealed by the devs to lucky playtesters.
What to expect in the third closed beta test?
While no official date for ZZZ's third closed beta test has been announced yet, we can expect it to open in the coming months.
The game's overall gameplay is expected to receive significant improvements during the upcoming closed beta test.
The most recent update to the HDD System has greatly optimised the TV Wall, also known as the Hollow Board, so that players can explore the Hollows more efficiently.
The combat system has undergone multiple revisions and is now said to be more dynamic, making it more exciting for both casual and expert players, particularly in Hollow Zero and Rally Missions.
New Eridu will also its "citizens" a more immersive living experience by providing more city guidance and urban life events.
Among other things, it will also include new Bangboo mechanics. Newly improved Bangboo models are preparing to enter battle with the newest technique — the Bangboo chain attacks.
The enhanced Hollow Deep Dive System (HDD) will also provide access to a number of combat missions, including the Shiyu Defence combat challenge.
Players may now skip the easy part and go right into difficult boss fights thanks to the revamped system.
A new character, Zhu Yuan, and a new faction, New Eridu Public Security's Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, will also be one of the main highlights of the third closed beta.
ZZZ is expected to release in 2024 on PC, Android, iOS and most recently announced, on PS5.
