Zhang Ziyi won her 12th Best Actress award

14 Oct – Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi has won her 12th Best Actress award for her role in "The Grandmaster" at the recent 14th Chinese Film Media Awards.

As reported on Oriental Daily News, the actress, who attended the ceremony held in Beijing on 11 October, said that the number 12 was particularly meaningful as it represents the end as well as the new beginning for her.

The actress also turned to her Weibo to express her delight, saying, "Without the help of director Wong Kar Wai and Mr. Tony Leung, as well as hundreds of millions of viewers and fans, I would not have 12 awards."

Meanwhile, Nick Cheung grabbed his third Best Actor award through "Unbeatable", while director Johnnie To won Best Director through his movie, "Drug War", which also won best Picture.

Singaporean director Anthony Chen won Best Screenplay for "Ilo Ilo", while the film's female star, Yeo Yann Yann took home the Best Supporting Actress award.
