'Jobs was my hero' -- Yahoo! co-founder Jerry Yang

Yahoo! co-founder Jerry Yang also expressed sadness over Steve Jobs' passing this Thursday, saying "I will miss him dearly, as will the world."

In a statement, Yang admitted that Jobs was his hero when he was growing up.

"He not only gave me a lot of personal advice and encouragement, he showed all of us how innovation can change lives," he added.

The iconic technology leader of Apple died at the age of 56, reports said.

This happened just a day after Apple announced the new features of now iconic Apple iPhone.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates has also expressed sadness over the passing of a peer whom he also acknowledged as an "insanely great" leader.

Apple has put up a tribute page to Steve Jobs.



Google also honoured the Apple co-founder on their main page.
