Tensions run high in Johor Bahru hotseat

Tensions ran high in Johor Bahru, near the municipal council where votes from the area were tallied. Tensions rose after opposition supporters got unconfirmed reports that police allowed Barisan Nasional supporters to get past a barbed wire road. Riot unit officers armed with 9mm submachine guns were deployed in the area. Tensions further rose after opposition supporters saw vehicles entering the council compound. One of the vehicles was said to be an airport taxi, according to people on the ground. People were seen crowding around the purported airport taxi and slamming it, claiming that the car contained illegal votes. One of its windows was smashed a while later.
