Accor launches second ibis hotel in Singapore

International hotel group Accor has officially launched ibis Novena, its second hotel in Singapore.

"The opening of the second ibis hotel in Singapore marks another important milestone for the ibis brand in this part of the world," said Michael Issenberg, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, Accor Asia Pacific.

"It demonstrates our commitment to further strengthen our position as a leading player in the economy hotel sector in Singapore and throughout Southeast Asia," he added.

Located near Novena MRT station, the hotel targets individual and corporate bookings for both mid- and long-term stays. It is also an ideal choice for business executives, medical tourists and holiday makers.

According to Ms. Shamila Rolfe, General Manager of ibis Singapore Novena, "The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) expects 12 to 13 million visitors to arrive in Singapore in 2011, resulting in a strong demand for centrally located, quality yet affordable accommodations."

"ibis Singapore Novena is ideally positioned to meet this demand and as evidenced through our current bookings, we expect the hotel to become a favourite among visitors from neighbouring countries such as Malaysia, (the) Philippines and Indonesia, as well as longer haul markets."

ibis Singapore Novena provides 241 good-quality contemporary rooms equipped with complementary Wi-Fi and broadband Internet access, 32-inch LCD televisions, in-room safes and huge bay windows.

"Three-star hotels in the market vary in terms of standards and quality," added Ms. Rolfe.

"The new ibis Novena is part of the ibis family — the worldwide economy hotel brand of the Accor group. Guests are assured of consistent quality accommodations and services and will easily be able to locate the hotel on the many distribution systems that Accor plugs into."
