Bayfront station opening, given new Chinese name
Commuters who understand Chinese will be spared any confusion when Bayfront station on the Circle line opens on Saturday with a new Chinese name.
MediaCorp discovered that both Bayfront and Cove station on the Punggol LRT line were named Hai Wan Zhan, and told the Land Transport Authority about the blunder, according to Channel NewsAsia.
LTA will change Bayfront’s Chinese name to Hai Wang Fang Zhan, CNA said.
The agency has not yet responded to queries from Yahoo! Singapore, but it announced on Tuesday via Twitter that Bayfront station will open on Saturday.
The station will connect the Marina Bay Sands Casino to the MRT system. According to CNA, out of five exits at Bayfront, four will link to the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort.
