A naked woman was rescued from a window ledge of an HDB block in Toa Payoh on Sunday.

The woman, 45, sat on a window ledge between the fifth and sixth floor of Block 31 on Toa Payoh Lorong 5, and was seen to be naked and pale. She was at the ledge for one and a hours.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call at about 9.02am and deployed a fire engine, a 'Red Rhino' (light fire attack vehicle) and ambulance to provide assistance.

A life pack was also set up at the foot of the block for precautionary measures.

The woman was eventually pulled to safety and was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for a check-up, reported Shin Min Daily News.

Police declined to say why the woman, a Singaporean, was sitting there as investigations are ongoing.
