Within a day of the news breaking that Ashley Madison, a controversial match-making site targeting married couples, could be here in Singapore by next year, a local Facebook group calling itself Block Ashley Madison has sprung up. The page has attracted more than 3,000 likes in less than 48 hours, with an overwhelming majority of the commenters calling for it to be blocked or banned. The aim of the page is to "gather sound-minded people to express our objection to the establishment of the shameless company -- Ashley Madison -- that thrives on shattered marriages".

Malaysian police disclosed shocking figures on the number of cases involving taxi drivers who rob their passengers and in some incidents, even molest the female ones. In the last 10 months, there have been 49 cases of taxi drivers robbing passenger reported in the city. A police chief said the figures were found to be disturbing and serious as people would no longer feel safe travelling in taxis.
