Car catches fire on BKE, two victims conveyed to NUH

Two people were sent to hospital after the car they were in got into an accident and caught fire along Bukit Timah Expressway on Friday afternoon.
 
The accident, which happened along BKE stretch towards Pan Island Expressway and before the Bukit Panjang exit, involved another car and a tipper truck.
 
The Singapore Civil Defence Force were alerted to the incident at about 1:20pm and extinguished the fire using a hose reel, said a spokesperson.
 
A Chinese male and female, both in their 20s, were conveyed conscious to the National University Hospital.
 
The man complained that he was experiencing pain in his left knee, left elbow and chest, while the female suffered from abrasions, the spokesperson added.
 
The police said that investigations are ongoing.

People who passed across the scene snapped photos and tweeted about the incident.

Singapore radio deejay Divian Nair said in a tweet, “Saw this on the BKE earlier on. Drive safely people.”
