COE premiums all up in latest tender

Certificate of entitlement (COE) premiums shot up in all categories in the latest bidding exercise on Wednesday.

According to figures from Land Transport Authority website One Motoring, the price of an open category COE jumped by 13.9 per cent to $76,000. An open COE can be used for any type of vehicle.

Premiums for cars above 1,600cc also increased by 11.4 per cent to $75,000 from $67,304 at the previous tender.

Small cars up to 1,600cc saw a smaller spike in COE premiums, rising by 3.8 per cent to $67,301, while motorcycle and commercial vehicle COE prices went up by 2.3 per cent and 1.9 per cent respectively.
