Disney to livestream unboxing of Star Wars toys

Brace yourselves Star Wars fans: Disney has announced plans to livestream a major unboxing event next month for its new collection of Star Wars toys.

As part of the countdown to the Force Friday event September 4, Disney will host a live toy unboxing event, with a new toy unveiled in a different city around the world over the course of 18 hours.

The event begins on the morning of September 3 in Sydney, Australia, before rolling out in Asia, Europe, Canada, the US and South America.

A total of 15 cities will unbox a new toy from the upcoming film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." The finale will take place at Lucasfilm in San Francisco, at 8 am PDT (11 am EDT).

At 12:01 am September 4, select Disney stores around the world stocked with the new Star Wars paraphernalia and collectors' items including toys, collectibles, books and apparel will open their doors.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in US theaters December 18.
