Gillian Chung vs. Shao Xiaoshan
24 May – Gillian Chung had recently engaged in an online battle with mainland actress Shao Xiaoshan on the Twitter-like networking site Weibo, reports May Daily.
It was reported that their name-calling battle was initiated over arguments regarding the donations Shao Xiaoshan claimed to have provided to the Ren Yabo family of Heilongjiang province, who made waves recently with their poverty situation.
Shao claimed on her public Weibo account that she donated over 4,000 yuan (US $616) to the needy Yabo family.
However it is reported that, according to Ren that the information was false as he only received 1,000 yuan (US $154) from Shao instead for the 4,000 yuan she so publicly declared.
Gillian then posted a response on the matter on her Weibo account, criticizing Shao for being a cheapskate, self-publicist and also implied that Shao is a devil.
The furious Shao than responded on her Weibo, "has your sex photo scandal (with Edison Chen) made you insane? I suggest you see a psychiatrist."
Not long after, Shao's Weibo account was mysteriously hacked by an unknown party as Gillian's fans rushed to support and defend her.
