Cinema Online interview with Kajol held at the launch of Astro's BollyOne HD channel at J.W. Marriot, Kuala Lumpur.

Hi Kajol, how do you feel visiting Malaysia for the very first time?
To be honest, I am really touched for receiving a very warm welcome from Malaysia. The people here are very friendly; they always greet me with friendly smiles and wave at me. So, I would love to thank the people here for their kindness, even though this has only been my first visit to Malaysia.

Why do you think Bollywood is such a craze among Malaysians?
Hindi films have its own fandom and the fans are made up of people from all over the country, the reason why Hindi films are such a big hit is because of the relatable storyline itself. Furthermore, the acting performances by fellow actors accompanied by the catchy Bollywood songs really keeps audiences glued despite the film's duration of 2 to 3 hours.

As we all know, many artistes have started using social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay close to their own fans, what about you?
Oh, apparently I don't do that. To tell you the truth, I don't even have my own account for any of the social media websites.

I know many of the celebrities like to share their own experiences and activities to the fans but I don't do that. In fact, I don't even know much about these kinds of things.

Many still remember your famous role as Anjali in the heart-warming film, "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", do you think that there are any other actresses that can replace you for that role?
Seriously I can't imagine having anyone taking on Anjali's role because the role meant so much to me. To me, "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" is not a film, it is a precious and wonderful memory that I will always treasure.

Acting alongside my best friend Shah Rukh Khan throughout the film had really made me happy. The production of the film was full of fun and great moments. I will always remember and treasure the time I spend while working in this film because the film has a deep sentimental value in my heart to this day.

If you can choose to act with either Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan or Aamir Khan, who would you choose?
Why of course I would choose to act along with the three of them because Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir are amazing, and I would be lucky if I can work together with the three of them.

It seems that your husband Ajay Devgan has recently released a new film called "Singham Returns", what do you think about the film?
I really love the film! I am amazed and excited when I watched it. Ajay acting as D.C.P Bajrao Singham was superb and all the other actors did a good job too. All thanks to director Rohit Shetty, who led the film and the cast to success.

It has been two years since your last project, do you have any new movies coming up soon?
Yes, I am involved in Rohit Shetty latest project and the shooting of the film will start next October and the film is expected to be released next year around May.

You celebrated your 40th birthday last 5 August, how was the celebration?
Usually I would have a grand celebration for my birthday party and invite all of my celebrity and non-celebrity friends along with my family. However, this year the celebration was really normal, I just took my kids out and ate a normal dinner like any other family. It was a simple celebration, nothing fancy.

Before we end the conversation, is there anything else you would like to say to your fans out there?
Yes, I would like to thank all of my fans, especially the ones in Malaysia for always giving me a huge support throughout my career. I am happy that the fans here appreciate me and I will definitely visit Malaysia again one day!
