Lu Chen frustrated by Li Yundi's indifference

19 Feb – Taiwanese famed magician Lu Chen recently released a statement about the recent controversy surrounding his magic performance with pianist Li Yundi, asking for the latter's management to set things straight.

According to Asianpopnews website, after being harassed by fans of both Li Yundi and Wang Leehom for his "looking for Leehom" joke during his performance with the pianist, on 17 February, the Taiwanese magician fired back and released a statement, saying that the joke was initiated by Yundi.

The manager added that the purpose of their statement is to uphold Lu Chen's integrity and to tell the truth.

Lu Chen's manager revealed, "Li Yundi approached Lu Chen and offered a suggestion, "Why don't we talk about Leehom as the effects of the news last year were quite good!". I agreed and said that we do not mind doing so!"

Lu Chen's manager continued that the joke was carried out on stage when both parties agreed on using Leehom's name to create the special effect. However, Lu Chen was harshly criticised after the magic show was broadcasted.

Lu Chen's manager also revealed, "After the show, Lu Chen had received a threatening call from an anonymous person who warned him not to speak on the matter. He then called Yundi and sought his help to clarify the matter. However, Yundi only wrote on his Weibo that he "was happily collaborating with Lu Chen".

The subsequent short statement made by Li Yundi did not help the magician at all since CCTV and Yundi both said that Lu Chen's line on the stage was not agreed beforehand.
