Morning Musume's Kago Ai attempted suicide
12 Sep – Yesterday, former Japanese group Morning Musume member, Kago Ai 23-years-old, was found on the floor of her apartment unconscious by her agency officials after a failed suicide attempt, according to a report on Tokyo Hive's website.
According to the area's police department, Kago had slit her wrist and was quickly transported to a hospital. Her life is not in danger and her condition is currently stable.
It is reported that Kago's agency officials immediately rushed over to her apartment when she hinted suicide during a phone call. They found her on the ground in a daze and immediately reported the incident to the police. She is suspected of consuming large amounts of medication and police are investigating this as a planned suicide.
On 6 September, Kago's boyfriend Ando Haruhiko 44-years-old was arrested due to apparent mafia affiliations where the Japanese media reported that Kago Ai herself was taken in for questioning.
It is reported that the singer had been driven to the edge over the incident, thus leading to the sudden suicide attempt, which fortunately, was unsuccessful.
