Sammi: "I will change for him!"

3 Jun – Popular Hong Kong singer-actress Sammi Cheng said she is changing her willful, hedonistic and headstrong ways for recently-reconciled singer boyfriend Andy Hui, according to Hong Kong media, as reported by Channel News Asia.

She was quoted as saying: "We're not looking to have an earth-shaking romance but a healthy long-term relationship," when she appeared at a promo event in Hong Kong on Wednesday.

"Trust and getting along peacefully is very important, so I will not be as wilful as before," said Cheng, who was spotted screaming like an excited fan at all three of Hui's Hong Kong concerts recently.

"If I returned to what I was like 10 years ago, even I would hate [the old Cheng]. Now, we talk things through and it's a lot better," she added.

The 38-year-old songstress pointed out that it was she who has to change her bad habits, as Hui is already a very personable man and is easy to get along with. She went on to deny reports that she would soon wed Hui.

She explained that they are still getting to know each other, as it has been barely a month since they got back together.

Hui, 43, had also earlier expressed that he "had not thought about" marriage yet.

However, he said last week that if they do marry, they'll tell everyone about it.

"Even if we try to be secretive [about their marriage], the media will know. If that is the case, it is better to be happy and go public with the news," said Hui.

Hui, a disciple of the late Canto-pop queen Anita Mui, became an item with Cheng in 1996 but split and reconciled numerous times over the years but in March earlier this year, the pair announced that they have gotten back together once more.
