Selina Jen finally married
3 Nov – Taiwanese singer Selina Jen is officially Mrs Chang. The starlet, who turned 30 a few days ago, had finally tied the knot with fiancé Richard Chang at the Sheraton Taipei Hotel after several delays due to her tragic on-set accident that occurred last year, according to the Taipei Times website.
Taiwan president Ma Ying-jeou was on hand to witness Jen marry her long-time sweetheart, 39-year-old lawyer Richard Chang.
S.H.E group mates Hebe Tien and Ella Chen, Taiwan singers Wang Li Hom, Christine Fan, Jolin Tsai as well as television hosts Patty Hou, along with Dee and Barbie Hsu were among the almost 1000 guests who filled up the 88 banquet tables at Jen's wedding.
Selina has undergone a rigorous rehabilitation regime ever since suffering multiple third degree burns during her on set accident last 22 October. She had to undergo several rounds of skin grafting and due to her injuries, the complex traditional marriage ritual in the morning was scrapped.
Her fiancé strong support since Selina's accident prompted her father to say, "She has finally found a man that she can trust for the rest of her life"
The wedding opened with a pre-recorded conversation between Selina and Richard.
"Later, God decided to put me through a test and gave me some pain," Selina said.
"I don't understand why God would hurt you," Richard replied.
Selina continued, "I couldn't hug you tightly these days, but it has brought us closer instead."
"I'm waiting to hold your hand and walk you down the red carpet, which you've waited so long for," Richard said.
Then, Selina quipped happily, "I'm finally marrying you!"
The video left tears in many guests' eyes.
It was previously rumoured that Hebe and Ella are on bad terms with Richard. The trio did not interact much with one another that night. However, they did take a photo together before a S.H.E's special performance.
Ella congratulated Selina for fulfilling her childhood dream. As a joke, she pointed to Richard and said "If you let Selina down and make her cry, I'll not let you off", inducing laughter to the guests.
